Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has successfully secured $1,575,000 in funding for improvements to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. The funds will specifically be allocated towards establishing an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program within Montgomery County, which will involve acquiring ambulances equipped with essential lifesaving equipment and constructing a dedicated EMS facility. This initiative aims to fill the current gap in EMS services in Montgomery County, as highlighted by Congresswoman Stefanik who stated, "This project would provide life-saving services to the community as Montgomery County currently does not have an EMS program."

Sheriff Jeffery T. Smith expressed gratitude for Congresswoman Stefanik's efforts, stating, “We are very appreciative of Congresswoman Stefanik and her support. I look forward to bringing this award to our County Executive and County legislature for consideration, with the goal of providing the highest quality EMS service possible to our constituents. The announcement of this funding boost for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office signifies a significant step towards enhancing emergency response capabilities in the region. Congresswoman Stefanik's commitment to securing resources for vital community services reflects a proactive approach to addressing the needs of rural areas like Montgomery County.
